I had my homestudy finished today. I was really nervous because I HATE having people in my house and really felt that having her here was going to be intrusive but she was great. She didn't even look at half my apartment (which I had of course cleaned like mad lol). Lots of questions because we did two of the required meetings at once since she was with me for so long. Really felt like they wanted my entire life story and then some but I got through it and she was happy with my answers. I felt very fortunate to not have a partner because a lot of the questions I didn't have to answer since I'm single. A lot easier too since I've wanted to adopt since I was a teenager. She said that because I'm open to almost any baby I will be shown to a lot of birth moms. I'm hoping that also means I have a fast match, even if it's not from here. She has to just submit her report to my main worker and then I'm approved!!! YAY!!!
I'm so excited that this part of the process is completed. It was my biggest obstacle when I was originally thinking of adopting and I can't believe that it's done. One step closer to being approved, one step closer to being matched, and one step closer to getting a baby!
